Amy Spitz recently graduated with her MS/LIS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is pursuing a career in academic librarianship, particularly as an instruction and reference librarian in the humanities. Her research interests include the information behavior of fan communities, fan metadata (folksonomies, social tagging, and user-generated classification systems), fan communities as communities of practice, literary web series and transmedia, digital humanities, and fan fiction studies.
